All-Day Journal Workshop, Saturday, May 29. 10AM - 4PM. 44 N. Main Street, Gresham, OR 97030. $85. Limited to 7 adults.
This workshop will prepare you for painting outdoors, either in Kathy’s upcoming summer classes, or on your travels. Learn to create and use a journal. You will make these in class, learn quick painting techniques, and paint outdoors to initiate your artistic journey!
Most important, Kathy will show you how to create a memorable and personal record of your art. the supply list will be provided upon registration. Mat board for covers, paper cutter, hole punches, and other materials will be provided.

Kathy Delumpa Allegri has taught plein air painting for over 17 years, sharing her unique, fun and practical approach to painting nature, locally and in Hawaii. This summer, paint on private property on Sauvie Island and at a nearby lavender farm. Stay in Newport overnight & paint at the Bay and at Nye Beach; sail on the Columbia; take a Limo to paint and taste wines at vineyards in Oregon’s famed wine country, and more.
What you’ll experience:
Observing your environment with an artist's eyes
Composing your composition “road-map” around your focal point
Mixing color and applying washes quickly, efficiently, and effectively
Painting in your personal journal as well as in larger formats
Wonderful ambiance of art, food, wine, and fellowship
Dates: Wednesdays, June 16, 30; July 7, 21, 28; August 4, 18, 25.
Time: 9:30 AM - 4 PM. In really hot weather, we may adjust the time or venue. The Newport coast trip is July 27-28. Accommodations (limited) at private residence as well as nearby hotels.
Registration: Deadline is Wednesday, June 9, 2010. No refunds. Please select an alternate venue and/or find someone to take your place if you have to be absent.
